Hey Tony, just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our hunt with you. I can honestly say its the best hunt I’ve ever been on. Your professionalism was first rate. You went above and beyond for my grandson, he had a blast. I really appreciate all that you did for us. The turkey action was fantastic. Elaine is still giving me fits about calling one away from me. Miss Marti really made us feel at home and the food, lodging and accommodations were great. Thanks again Tony May and Xtreme Hunts we definitely will be back. Five plus stars! I have hunted with Xtreme hunts for two years now in kansas. Tony May runs a great turkey hunting operation with plenty of birds and great hospitality and lodging. Tony really knows where the birds are at and what their doing at the time of your arrival in camp plus he’s a hoot to be around. I would recommend Tony May & Xtreme Hunts to anyone who is looking for a honest turkey hunting outfitter that really goes the extra mile for his clients even on a semi guided turkey hunts. I have been deer hunting with Xtreme Hunts for several years now in Illinois. When Xtreme Hunts started Outfitting in Kansas I decided to book a turkey hunting trip with them and for the past 2 years turkey hunting Kansas with Xtreme Hunts has been very successful for me and along with the other hunters I had the opportunity to share camp with, all I can say is wow 4 tags  4 birds  4 days in 2 years. Tony May does his home work and makes sure your on a farm with plenty of turkeys. I can not leave out Marti and her cooking and hospitality is over the top. Camp has always been very clean and never over booked with hunters. I re-booked my hunt for next year as you can guess. I cant wait because this year I am going to chase them thunder chickens with archery equipment.

My turkey hunt in Kansas with Tony May and Xtreme Hunts was a fantastic hunt, the food and lodging was excellent and more then any lodge guest could ask for in being comfortable and you could feel the family atmosphere the minute you walked in the door and Tony at Xtreme Hunts. I met Tony at the Arkansas Big Buck Classic and we clicked from the start, every thing he told me about Xtreme’s turkey hunting operation was dead on, there were plenty of turkeys and the guide Mr Tony was great and knew where the turkeys were and most importantly knew how to hunt them. If I can tell you one thing is listen to Tony. We got more then we expected from a semi guided turkey hunt. We re-booked our hunt and looking forward to next springs turkey season . Thank You, Xtreme Hunts

We hunted with Xtreme Hunts in Kansas for the first time this year. We heard a lot of turkeys gobbling and enjoyed some wonderful food, lodging and hospitality. Tony May stays on top of turkeys to know where they are headed and when. We had a great time and have already re- booked for next year.

Thanks,
Tony Harris

My name is Wayne L. Bozeman from Wetumpka, Alabama. I have been turkey hunting (unguided) in south Texas for the last 19 consecutive years. I was unable to go in the spring of 2014 to Texas with my normal hunting buddies. As luck would have it I was invited to go with a good friend of mine Johnny Carothers. No one in our group had ever been hunting with Tony May or in Kansas. We arrived later than we should, but just before dark. Just enough time for a quick ride to look around. It was like I was in another country, completely lost. But thanks to an excellent guide Tony May, the next morning I had with me a colorful aerial photo of the hunting ground that i was hunting. And he had done his home work so well, he told me exactly what that turkey was going to do from the roost to the time his feet hit the ground. First turkey down, Bang tag filled. That night and every night we ate some of the best food you could ever ask for. That was thanks to Ms Marty, not Tony. The one thing that really impressed me was that Tony had scouted out all the properties my group was hunting and made notes onto aerial photographs where the turkey were roosted and where they went when they hit the ground. That really helped me be successful on property I have never seen before. The last morning, ( with advise from Tony) I killed a very nice double bearded Rio Grand. I was tagged out in a day and a half with 2 great turkeys. Thanks Tony May and Xtreme Hunts

Tony,
Wanted to thank you and Xtreme Hunts for a exceptional spring turkey hunt. I have always heard that Kansas was the place for the best turkey hunting and Xtreme Hunts made that a reality. Tony May has a great grasp on the turkeys and the layout of the land. This made the hunt very pleasurable and successful, tagging out with a 2 turkey limit on a 3 day hunt. The food, accommodations with Xtreme hunts made it a complete package for a exceptional great turkey hunt. Thanks again. I am looking forward to hunting with you and Xtreme Hunts in 2015.

We had a group of 4 hunters in our Kansas turkey hunt…it was 100% awesome!! Our group booked the whole camp out and had the lodge all to ourselves. This was the opening week of the spring turkey season. The lodging is very nice, the food is fantastic, and the hunting opportunities are great! Lots of prime land to hunt turkeys!! We have already re-booked for next season, and it is a trip I truly look forward too! Tony May is a great guide, and provides lots of help for semi-guided hunters, its like you are on a fully guided hunt! Not much night life in Hepler, Kansas, but a truly awesome hunting destination!! Gobble gobble!

Thank you Xtreme Hunts!!

I had the pleasure of hunting wild turkey with Xtreme Hunts in Kansas last
spring. We were there just a couple weeks early that the peak mating season
but were confident we would have a great successful hunt!

With great anticipation we departed San Diego for Kansas City International.
Relieved when our gear came through baggage claim, we grabbed the rental car
and headed towards Hepler, a two hour drive. Upon arrival we were greeted
by Tony May by our guide & host for our self-guided hunt.

After stowing our gear Tony took us on a tour of the areas we would hunt.
Xtreme has access to thousands of acres of prime turkey habitat. He showed
us all the property and suggested where we should setup the next morning.
He showed us where to enter the fields, the route he would take to the blind
so as not to spook the birds, etc. There were turkey signs everywhere and
we saw gobblers strutting at several locations. We were ready!

The next morning the four of us split up into two pairs and hiked in. The
weather was beautiful and I was fine with a shell over a sweatshirt. After
hiking in we setup our decoys and ground blinds and hunkered down for fly
down. We were surrounded by gobblers in the trees and waited impatiently.

After we heard birds starting to fly down, we let out a few soft yelps
hoping to get the toms interested in our decoys. They responded back and
forth with us for some time but the real hens calling from the other
direction had their fancy this morning and none came into range.

We returned to the lodge for lunch and strategizing for the afternoon hunt
with Tony. One really nice part about the location is that the hunting grounds
are only minutes from the lodge, a converted ice house.

My partner and I went to the site where we saw the gobblers strutting the
prior afternoon. We setup against some trees with the field to our left for
an easy shot at anything that approached our decoys. While waiting for a
tom to come strutting by on our left, much to my surprise I see one walking
down the edge of the hedgerow to my right!!  MAN, I am not setup for
shooting that direction and don’t want to move or he’ll see me. When he
walked past a tree I was able to shift my gun across my body and shoulder it
left handed. He walked my way along the hedgerow but when he was about 50
yards out he turned to go into the row. This was my chance. BOOM! I dropped
him right there. My shot woke my buddy up. He looked at me and I gave him
the thumbs up and I pointed to the bird. It got up and started to walk
around a bit. Still left handed I pumped a new shell in and hit him again
left handed. Measuring it out, it was a 53 yard shot and I was using
Hevi Shot 4-6 mixture load. When we got back to the lodge, my nickname became
“Lefty”.

The food and hospitality at Xtreme  Hunts were fabulous. Don’t go there to lose
weight. Aunt Bee {Marti} will be offended if you don’t go back for seconds and you
don’t want to offend Bee! She was a delight and kept loaded up with great
food. She made breakfast lunch and dinner. There were loads of snacks to
pack out on your hunt too. Each meal was fabulous!

The next day we tried another spot where a blind had been placed a few weeks
earlier. We snuck into the blind early, making sure to make as little noise
as possible. My hunting partner Fritz and I were side by side in the blind
and, since I already had a bird, he was setup for the optimal shot on the
decoy. Again, before first light the silence was shattered by gobblers
going off!. There must’ve been at least 6 roosts right around us! Wow,
does that get your heart thumping, Turkey guide, Tony May was with us to help call in birds.
We could hear birds all around responding so we knew something was going to
happen soon. Sure enough, about 30 minutes after first light, we see a
beautiful tom heading towards the decoy. Fritz was going to have a great
bird. Fritz signaled to me that he saw 2 birds coming in so I readied for a
shot as well until we realized the second bird was a hen. I relaxed to
watch Fritz get his bird. As the tom approached the decoy, I was watching
Fritz sight on the bird and pull the trigger. Click, no Boom, and Fritz
couldn’t help but swear “Crap!” or something to that effect. The tom heard
that too and turned to leave. Since Fritz’s gun mis-fired, I couldn’t help
but level mine on the now departing tom, pull the trigger, boom and the big
tom rolled. What a bird! 11 inch beard and inch and a half spurs.

We grabbed this tom into the blind and continued to call. After another
couple hours or so, we decided to head back to the lodge, I unzipped the
blind, stuck my head out and looked behind the blind. I saw a number of red
heads! I put my finger to my lips and pointed. We quietly settled back in
and in a couple minutes had a nice tom walk out from the bushes to the right
of the blind, then another another! Finally, we had four long-beards 20
yards to the right of the blind walking suspiciously towards the decoy!
Fritz would have his birds now! Well, it doesn’t always work that way…
Fritz was on the right side of the blind so he could only easily shoot
forward (12 o’clock) or left towards the decoy (10 o’clock). These birds
were right there at 3 o’clock but he couldn’t get in a position to shoot.
We waited for them to walk towards the decoy but, unfortunately they didn’t
think everything was fine and turned and walked away. Bummer! In hindsight,
we learned you have to make the shot when it is available… Fritz
should’ve slid back into my position, on my lap or however possible, and
taken the shot lefty. He had a semi-auto and could’ve filled his 2 bird tag
right there. It was close but no cigar.

This trip really stood out because Tony May. While billed as a
self-guided hunt, really took the effort to make sure everyone in the group
had a chance to get birds. He went above and beyond what you would expect
and helped out in any way they could.

We’ve made our reservations to return next season. We’ll be a week or two
later in the season to hopefully be there at the peak of mating season. No
matter what the hunting turns out like, we know we’ll have a wonderful time
and look forward to spending time with our Kansas friends from Xtreme Hunts.

Tony, I just wanted to let the other 1st time turkey hunters know how are hunt went with you in Kansas this year while hunting with Xtreme Hunts during the spring turkey season, my son and I had never been turkey hunting before so we did not no what to expect but Tony May did a awesome job putting us in the right spot at the right time, very class act outfitters, and we can’t forget about Marti the Lodge owner, cook and lodge keeper. My son got his 1st turkey ever and so did I, my best friend went with us and he and I actually doubled, Our hunt was a semi guided hunt and after the 1st day Tony grabbed my son by the arm at 2:00 in the afternoon and said lets go kill a turkey 1  hour 1/2  later I received a text that Levi killed a turkey with 3 beards measuring more then 18 inches and yes this was a semi guided hunt, Tony took the time to guide my boy on a hunt fully guided hunt with out even asking because i told Tony I did not care if I killed a turkey or not I just wanted Levi to kill a turkey. That my friends is all it took for us to become a believer in Xtreme Hunts, Tony May Keep up the great work, Levi & I  already Re-Booked our 2015 Spring Turkey Hunt,
